TNAADO Inc. · Toronto

Our own apps, our own newsroom, and the same work for clients.

Founded in 2020 by Ethan P. Daley and Grace Bashall.

S.01 The company

Media and technology.

Media is our newsroom and our crew. They publish every day, and on a client job the camera comes with the build: one shoot fills the website, the listing and the signage. It is also our influencer network: sourcing talent, securing deals, brand identity and business development.

Technology is websites, online stores and iPhone apps. We build them and we keep them running. Three of our own are on the App Store: Mr. Indecisive, The Dispatch and Find The Title.

The people, by name

What clients said, word for word, with the name and the company each one came from.

S.02 The office

One office, and we own what is in it.

The newsroom, the crew and the engineers are all at 1050 King Street West. Video shot in the morning is cut the same day.

You can come and look at it. Half an hour at the office with the people who would do your work, and a day’s notice so somebody is there when you arrive.

S.03 Senior people, on the job

The person who plans your job is on set when it is filmed.

Nothing is outsourced. The developers, producers, crew and strategists are on our payroll, in Toronto.

On a build, one senior engineer plans the work with you and is who you call if something breaks.

Before you book

How soon can you start Usually the same week.

Our crew and our developers are on staff here, so we are not waiting on anyone else. Put the deadline in your first message and you get a yes or a no on it.

Who owns the work Once you have paid for it, you do.

The finished work, the raw footage and the source code. We normally keep the right to show it in our portfolio. If you want it kept private, say so before we start and it goes in your terms.

We already have a team That is the usual situation.

We are often brought in beside a team you already have, to cover one gap: a build nobody has time for, a shoot your own team cannot staff. We agree exactly what we are building, in writing, before anyone starts.

If we want to take it in house Your own developers can pick it up.

Postgres, Supabase, Next.js, TypeScript, Vercel, Stripe, Swift and Cloudflare, among others, and your database, your code and your domain name sit in your own accounts rather than ours. Every tool is listed on the stack page.

The rest of the questions
Two men standing over an open laptop in front of a slatted pale-wood screen. The one holding the laptop wears a black-and-red cap reading I'M EVERYWHERE and is talking, looking down at the keyboard.
Three people on a salon floor during a shoot for a skincare client, one holding two pink product boxes out towards the camera, lit product shelves behind them.

S.05 2020 to today

How we ended up putting media first.

Good work still loses if nobody sees it.

So the camera and the newsroom came in house.

Ethan Daley, founder of TNAADO Inc.: moustache and short beard, dark jacket over an open-collar white shirt, looking straight to camera.
My biggest regret is chasing monetary goals, and my greatest triumph is refocusing on my passion and building solutions that actually matter to their users.

Grace Bashall, Founder and Head of Journalism at TNAADO Inc.: long hair parted in the middle, a dark asymmetric-shouldered top and a fine chain with a silver sun pendant, looking straight to camera.

A founder of the firm, and a journalism graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University.
