S.03 The equipment

The equipment, and what it does.

We own all of it, and it lives here between jobs.

Cameras Professional cameras, set up to be carried by hand.

They film the interviews, the product shots and the footage in between.

Steady moving shots A gimbal, which is a motorised handle that holds the camera level.

It keeps the picture smooth when the camera moves along with someone.

Support vest A vest and spring arm that carry the camera’s weight.

It takes the weight, so a moving shot can run as long as the scene needs.

Sound Three wireless microphones, plus one that points at a single voice.

Two people talking, or one person on a noisy street, both record cleanly.

Lighting Lights on stands, and a large soft one for the main light.

Enough to light an interview with two people, or a product shoot.
