Consulting · Advisory Practice
Senior advisory for market entry and growth in Canada.
Operating advisory across technology and market entry. We help with the big calls — capital partnerships, joint ventures, family-office structures — in focused, senior-led mandates scoped before we start.
Advisory grounded in delivered work.
Every mandate is held by someone who has run the same kind of build, the same kind of launch or the same kind of capital cycle inside a business, and can answer questions about it in detail rather than referring back to a deck.
This practice grew out of the other two: our technology and market-entry clients kept needing help structuring deals, writing family-office models and signing JVs — so we built a team to do it well.
Engagements are scoped to a specific decision, priced before the work starts, and closed when the decision is made. We do not run standing monthly retainers.
Where we advise.
Each of these has been run from inside an operating business by the person who leads it here. Mandates are short, senior and held to the scope agreed at the start.
-
F.02.01 JV & partnership structuring The architecture of a joint venture, held by people who have sat on both sides of the cap table.
Drafted with the clauses that get invoked in practice, and reviewed for the ones that sit unused until a dispute or an exit brings them forward.
- Equity splits and cap table structure
- Governance and decision rights
- Operating control and day-to-day authority
- Exit mechanics and buy-sell provisions
- Dormant clauses reviewed for the ones that actually get invoked
-
F.02.02 Family-office operating models Governance, portfolio models and the playbooks the next generation will operate against.
The manual that decides whether a family office runs as an investment vehicle or a venture holding company.
- Governance charter and investment committee structure
- Portfolio allocation models across asset classes
- Succession and next-generation operating playbooks
- Reporting cadence and decision rights between principals and staff
-
F.02.03 Capital partnerships Introductions and term work for the capital partnership that doesn’t announce itself.
Scoped to one transaction, with the introductions and term work priced up front.
- Warm introductions to private credit and strategic equity partners
- Term sheet review and negotiation support
- Family-office co-investment structuring
-
F.02.04 Portfolio operating advisory Operating alongside a portfolio CEO for a defined window — a quarter, a launch, a board cycle.
A senior operator works alongside the portfolio CEO for an agreed window and leaves when it closes.
- In the room for the decision, not a monthly check-in
- Direct line to the holding company or family office sponsoring the mandate
- Clear exit point agreed before the mandate starts
-
F.02.05 Applied AI advisory When a Technology project isn’t the right shape but a senior read on AI is.
The team that builds our applied AI work, engaged for the assessment only, without a build attached.
- Build-vs-buy assessment for AI initiatives
- Agent and workflow surface design, reviewed before a line of code
- Evaluation criteria for vendor and in-house options
