We build iPhone apps in Toronto.

One team at 1050 King Street West draws your app, writes it, and gets it through Apple's review.

Find The Title on iPhone: large type reading What's that clip, a line about sharing a TikTok, Reel or Short, a share-sheet instruction, and a paste-a-link field with a Run button.
The Dispatch on iPhone: a masthead reading The Dispatch over category chips, a lead photo of a woman holding a paper collage, and the headline Clever Clippings brings upcycled collage art to Toronto Pride.
Mr. Indecisive on iPhone: a full-bleed photo of a restaurant front at night with its neon sign, the name Fox on John, the line Sunday brunch that's actually worth the line, and a pill reading Brunch, two dollar signs, 4.7 stars.

What we do, from start to finish

01

Design

We draw every screen first, the way iPhone owners expect an app to look. You approve the list before anything is built.

02

Build

We write it in Swift, Apple's own language, and connect it to the tools you already use, like Stripe or your booking system. You run it on your own phone through TestFlight while we build.

03

Ship

We write the App Store listing, fill in Apple's privacy forms, send the app in and answer Apple's reviewers. Our camera crew, in this office, shoots the launch photos and video.

The tools and services we build on are listed on the stack.

More of our apps

We built these too. They are not on the store.

These are finished apps we built and run ourselves.

How long

From the call to the App Store.

About four months, or five for a bigger app. Every stage is agreed in writing before we start, and you see working versions along the way.

  1. 01 The first call, then everything in writing You get the list of screens and the name of the engineer building it. Nothing is built until you have it. 3 business days
  2. 02 Screens drawn, the plan agreed How the app stores your information, every screen drawn, the other tools it connects to, and who is allowed to see what. All agreed before we build. 2 weeks
  3. 03 Building, with test versions for your phone Twelve weeks for a smaller app, sixteen for a bigger one. You run it on your own phone while we are still writing it. 12 to 16 weeks
  4. 04 Sent to Apple for approval Testing on real phones, then the App Store listing and the privacy forms, then we send it in. How long Apple takes is the one part nobody controls. 2 weeks
  5. 05 Live, and handed to you It goes live on the App Store. Then we hand you the code, the Apple signing files and the server behind it. 1 week

Proof

What sits behind an app.

Here is what an App Store page cannot show you: the website that runs behind an app, and the room we build it in.

Ours · built, not published

The Dispatch Live reporter portal on its Earnings tab, in a browser: a header reading Dispatch Live, reporter portal, with tabs for Earnings, Tax and Payouts and Support. Four readings run across the top: accrued this period, pending, held, and next payout August 21 2026. Beneath them a payout history table lists five two-week periods with their commissions and statuses reading held, pending, paid, paid and failed.

The control panel that comes with the app

Most apps need a website behind them that only staff can open. This one sits behind Dispatch Live, the app reporters film with, and works out what each reporter is owed and pays them. The numbers in the screenshot are test data.

Where we are

Looking west from a terrace on King Street West: a rusted-steel and mesh screen with climbing vines in the foreground, the rail corridor below, a round red-brick tower under construction with a crane above it, the CN Tower behind, and a King High Line hoarding at the right.

Our King Street West office

The designers, the engineers and the camera crew all work at 1050 King Street West, so the photos and video for your launch are shot the week the app goes live. More about the office.

Websites & design

We design the website, not only the software.

We build websites too: a simple site for a clinic, an online shop, a single page for an ad campaign, a magazine-style site for a realtor. We design yours from scratch as well as build it.

sluekie.com
The Sluekie storefront home page: a silk bedding brand, with a navy hero, the headline “Transform Your Nights Forever” and a product room photograph beside it. The Buuiteks storefront home page, an oral care brand. The Sam Pakdel Realty home page: a black editorial layout with the headline “Toronto Real Estate” and a portrait of the agent. The Deen’s Group home page, a commercial real estate and events brand. The Apex Marketing landing page, a lead-generation page for an advertising agency.

Phase 01

Sketch

Every page is drawn before a line of code: what sits where, what a visitor sees first, and what a phone gets instead.

Phase 02

Design

We design it. Typefaces, colour, spacing, and how your logo and brand are applied across every page.

Phase 03

Build

We build it by hand and it works right down to phone size. Your words and pictures go in, and every connection to another tool is tested. You see it on a private link first, before anyone else can.

Questions

The questions people ask first.

Who submits it to the App Store and handles the review?

We do. That covers the App Store listing, the privacy forms, uploading the build, and answering Apple if the first attempt comes back. We publish our own apps, so we have been through Apple’s review many times.

Do I own the app and the Apple account?

Yes. The app goes on the App Store under your own Apple Developer account, so the listing, the reviews and the customers are yours from the first day. At launch we hand you the code, the Apple signing files and the server behind it.

What if it also has to run on Android?

An iPhone-only app is written in Swift. One that has to run on Android too is written once in Expo, a toolkit that builds both from one set of code. We tell you which one you need before anything is agreed in writing. If it does not need to be on a phone at all, software that runs in a browser is a different page.

Book a call

Describe the app, and we will count the screens.

Thirty minutes with the engineer who would build it.

Before the call

The Screen Map: your app, drawn and counted

We draw every screen your app needs, numbered, before we speak, and name every connection to another tool.
